Two Weeks' Notice

It's official - we're moving in two weeks! I am feeling all sorts of emotions right now and also battling the nastiest sinus infection ever. Pretty crappy timing, considering all the things that need to be done before the movers ring our doorbell next Friday morning. Ugh. I really hope I can get it together, because right now, I'm feeling a little like this.

On the bright side, renovations are really coming along and looking great! We're about one month in at this point, and I've been very pleased with the progress so far. After weeks of deliberation, I've finally picked out our paint colors, and some of them are already on the walls. I'll talk more about it in a later post, but here is the finalized palette:

The floor team is coming in today to sand and prep our floors to be stained this Friday. This is going to be a pretty major transformation... I'm crossing my fingers and toes that it turns out well. Stay tuned!

Happiest Race on Earth

Guess who just got back from spending five sunny days down in Orlando! I was there to support my husband and friends as they ran the Disney Marathon. At first I was pretty hesitant about skipping town during renos, but I really wanted to be there to cheer Chris on as he ran his first marathon. Plus, I reaallly needed a vacation.

I had a total blast hanging out with such a determined, inspirational, and fun-loving group! Here are a few snapshots from our trip~

4am - Up before the sun, and ready to run!

My action shot of Chris closing in on the finish line!
Super proud of my guy :)
Getting ready to beast a scrumptious (and well-deserved) artichoke truffle pizza
Enjoying wine tastings in various Epcot countries. Disney is not just for the kiddies!

Our mini getaway was kind of a tease, and I really wish we could've had a few extra days to relax. But I really missed my puppy, and it's time to come back to reality. And to this:

Lots more to come!

Fly

Remember that gut feeling I had back in January about all the changes that were about to take place? Boy, was I right, and what an extraordinary year it has been.

2012 was a roller coaster of peaks, plunges, twists, loops, and turns. I started it out with lots of kicking and screaming, terrified of every tiny little bump. But somewhere along the way, little by little, I found myself finally letting go. While I may not have both hands up in the air just yet, I am definitely starting to enjoy the ride. This year has left me breathless and dizzy, and I am having the time of my life.

I never would've imagined that we'd be living out of boxes as we embark upon this new year, but I could not be happier. Even as I write this, our home is being prepped for a complete transformation, making way for a perfectly fresh, new begining. We have so many things to be excited about and thankful for, and I simply cannot wait to see what 2013 has up its sleeve.

I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying a refreshing and peaceful holiday. Happy New Year!
